Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device; similar technologies include local storage, which stores small values in your browser. They can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by someone else's service). UK PECR and GDPR, the EU ePrivacy rules, and US state privacy laws all distinguish between storage that is strictly necessary for the site to work, which needs no consent, and everything else, which does. We follow that distinction strictly.

2. Strictly necessary storage

tt-consent, a first-party local storage value, remembers the choice you make in our consent banner so we do not ask you on every visit. It contains only your choice, holds no identifier that tracks you, and is kept for 6 months before we ask again. This is the only storage that exists before you make a choice.

3. Analytics, only with consent

If, and only if, you choose "Accept analytics" in our banner, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand which content helps visitors most. GA4 sets first-party cookies (names beginning _ga, retained up to 26 months) and processes usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location derived from a truncated IP address. We configure analytics without advertising features, without cross-site tracking, and without selling or sharing data for behavioural advertising. If you choose "Essential only", none of this loads, and the site works fully either way.

4. Embedded video

Our About page embeds a video hosted by Vimeo. We load it in Vimeo's Do Not Track mode, which instructs Vimeo not to set tracking cookies or collect viewing analytics for that player. If you press play, Vimeo delivers the video from its own servers and receives the technical data any video delivery requires, such as your IP address; Vimeo's own privacy policy applies to that delivery.

5. What we do not use

No advertising cookies, no social media pixels, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, and no third-party cookies beyond what is described above. If that ever changes, this policy and the consent banner will change first.

6. Your choices and controls

You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer, which reopens the banner. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings, and every major browser lets you block cookies entirely. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a preference against optional data processing, consistent with US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection immediately; data already collected is retained per the schedule above unless you ask us to address it, via info@tulip-tech.com.
